Fender Jazz Bass (Early 1990s) – Rare Quilted Burst w/ Gold Hardware

Up for sale is a stunning, standout example of early-90s Fender craftsmanship. If you are looking for a classic Jazz Bass that breaks away from the standard tortoiseshell-and-sunburst crowd, this is it.

Featuring a gorgeous quilted maple burst finish paired with a rich rosewood fretboard and upgraded gold hardware, this bass has an incredibly upscale, custom-shop aesthetic that looks unbelievable under stage lights.

The Specs

  • Body: Striking Quilted Maple Burst
  • Neck: Maple with a comfortable, fast "C" profile
  • Fretboard: Rosewood (smooth, dark, and well-conditioned)
  • Pickups: Original passive Fender Jazz single-coils
  • Hardware: Deluxe Gold bridge and tuners

Tone & Playability

Don’t let the premium looks fool you—this is a player’s bass through and through. It delivers that definitive, unmistakable passive Jazz Bass growl. The bridge pickup cuts through the mix with exceptional bite and articulation, while rolling on the neck pickup dials in a deep, pillowy vintage warmth.

The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action is dialed in low and fast with excellent sustain across the entire register.

Condition

This instrument is in Very Good condition. For a bass that is roughly 30 years old, it has been remarkably well-preserved. It shows normal, light signs of playwear consistent with its age (minor surface swirling/light scratches, and some typical light patina on the gold hardware), but no major dings, chips, or gouges that break the finish. Frets have plenty of life left in them.

Bass will ship securely packed and fully insured.

Early 90s Fenders are increasingly sought after for their build quality and wood selection. Finding one in this specific, eye-catching configuration with a quilted top and gold hardware doesn't happen often. It’s a versatile studio workhorse and a guaranteed head-turner on stage.
