Up for sale is my vintage Mattel Electronics Synsonics Drums (Model 5281) analog drum synth from 1981.
Don’t let the Mattel name fool you—this is a true, fully analog drum device that has developed a dedicated cult following for its gritty, lo-fi character and unique sound design possibilities.
It is an awesome addition for any retro studio, circuit bender, or electronic musician looking for genuine 1980s texture.It features four rubber pads that can be played with hands or sticks, alongside a programming row to record and repeat 16-step patterns. It outputs 5 native analog voices: Kick, Snare, two distinct Toms (one tuneable), and a white-noise Cymbal/Hi-Hat.Condition & Details:
- Cosmetics: In good vintage condition with light scuffs and normal dust from storage (please see photos for exact condition).
- Power: Can be powered via 6x C-cell batteries or a standard 9V DC minijack power adapter (neither are included).
