Full Bodied Jumbo with Rich Rosewood Tone
The Gibson SJ-200 made its debut in 1937 as the Super Jumbo, and with its iconic Super Jumbo body and impressive projection, it continues to make a statement unlike any other acoustic guitar. From country to folk to rock ‘n’ roll, numerous legendary musicians have chosen the SJ-200 to create some of the world’s most cherished music. Now, Gibson is proud to introduce the updated SJ-200 Studio Rosewood.
Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood features all-solid tonewoods, including a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer-finished Sitka spruce top for a wide dynamic range, responsiveness, and a balanced tone. The satin-finished rosewood used for the back and sides produces a richer bass sound compared to the more common maple-bodied SJ-200 models, reminiscent of some of the rare vintage SJ-200s with rosewood backs from the pre-war era.
The full-depth body of the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood delivers the deep, rich tone and exceptional volume and projection the model is known for. It also features an Advanced Response neck profile and a satin nitrocellulose lacquer-finished utility neck, providing smooth, easy playability. The Advanced Response neck is designed to be the perfect middle ground—not too large or too thin—making it comfortable for a wide range of players.
The rosewood fretboard has 20 standard-sized frets and is inlaid with classic mother-of-pearl graduated crown markers, a signature visual element of the classic SJ-200 design. The 16” fretboard radius enhances playability, making fast passages effortless and contributing to the overall ease of playing. You’ll find yourself reaching for this guitar over and over because it’s just so enjoyable to play.
Equipped with smooth-turning Grover Rotomatic tuning machines and a GraphTech TUSQ nut, the headstock ensures reliable tuning stability so you can focus on playing rather than tuning. The saddle and bridge pins on the rosewood bridge plate are also made from TUSQ. For seamless plug-and-play performance, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood comes with an L.R. Baggs Element Bronze active under-saddle piezo pickup, complete with a soundhole-mounted volume control for quick adjustments.
Packaged in a modern hardshell case for portability and protection, the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is ready to accompany you wherever your music takes you.

Delivering a tone that is focused, articulate, and deep, the Prelude Port OM makes you sound great. The great tone is thanks to the right combination of classic guitar building with a touch of tech. The slightly smaller size of the vintage OM body shape is comfortable and contributes to the instrument's focus. Michael Kelly's Port Technology, with its offset soundhole delivers the added projection and bigger tone. Add to that the solid spruce top and special bracing and this guitar delivers on sound.
