Offering a beautifully vintage 1930's Customized Astatic D-104 Ring-Mounted Crystal Microphone. The center Astatic casing is suspended within a modern 6" double-aluminum ring, in the style of microphone that dominated the early 20th century. (Note the metal riveted maker's badge, which were only placed on D-104's made between 1933 and 1937.) The physical condition is near mint, and functions with typical crystal quality (mostly midrange with muted low-end) and good output strength. (Check out the voice sample in the listing video.) The support ring and custom mount are attached to a custom-built wooden desk stand with chromed riser tube. The threads are standard 5/8" in the event you wanted to mount this mic on floor stand. Entire piece measures 13" tall.
