ORVILLE Les Paul Standard LPS-75 1988 - Honey Burst - Japan Import
A bit of history: "Orville by Gibson" was created as a tribute to the brand's founder, Orville Gibson. Production began in April 1988 with the aim of competing with the "perfect copies" being manufactured by Greco, Aria, Tokai, etc. Orville production ceased in 1997.
An Orville is a Gibson, but with Japanese craftsmanship. The finish is exemplary. The neck-to-body joint was improved for even better sustain—a technique subsequently adopted by Gibson USA.
*Hand-selected and imported by us from Japan*
A magnificent Orville Les Paul Standard LPS-75 in Honey Burst, made in Japan in 1988.
One of the very first ones produced!
Very good overall condition; shows some signs of use (scratches, finish marks, etc.), but nothing major. Jumbo frets are in very good condition: 7.5 to 8/10 (see photos for details).
Feels great right out of the box with perfect playability; this is "Gibson... Japan" quality.
As for the sound: The Japanese humbuckers are excellent, boasting a decidedly vintage character that is remarkably balanced, warm, and rich in the mid-range. A versatile setup capable of handling everything from blues and classic rock to vintage hard rock.
