Very nice and clean Fender 60th Anniversary Highway One Strat in Sunburst with hard shell case.

This guitar is set up with new strings and is ready to rock. Action is good, slight fret-ware on first two frets but does not effect playability.

Introduced in 2002, the US-made Fender Highway One (Hwy 1) Stratocaster bridged the gap between affordable Mexican-made models and the flagship American Standards. It retailed originally with a thin satin nitrocellulose finish, Alnico pickups, and a gig bag, currently trading on the used market for roughly $850 to $1,200.

Key Specs & Generations The series underwent a major overhaul around 2006, splitting the run into two distinct generations:

  • First Series (2002–2005):
    • Headstock: Small, traditional 50s/60s headstock.
    • Frets: Vintage-style narrow frets.
    • Pickups: Alnico III single-coils (early models sometimes cited Alnico II).
    • Finish: Thin satin acrylic/polyurethane finish.
    • Hardware: Zinc alloy tremolo block.
  • Second Series / Upgrade (2006–2011):
    • Headstock: Large 70s-style "Jimi" headstock with big lettering.
    • Frets: 22 jumbo frets.
    • Finish: Upgraded to a thin-skin satin nitrocellulose lacquer, which wears away quickly to give a natural relic look.
    • Hardware: Upgraded full-mass steel tremolo block for increased sustain.
    • Electronics: Added the Fender Grease-bucket tone circuit, which rolls off highs without adding muddy bass.

Configurations

  • SSS Model: Traditional 3 single-coil configuration.
  • HSS Model: Added an Atomic humbucking pickup in the bridge position.
  • Fretboards: Offered in both maple one-piece or rosewood over maple.
