Gibson 1942 J-45 Banner Maple – Collector Condition | Rare Roasted Adirondack Top

Up for sale is an exceptionally rare Gibson 1942 J-45 Banner Maple, a highly sought-after custom shop model featuring a unique combination of a Roasted Adirondack Spruce top and Maple back and sides.

This is not your typical J-45. The roasted Adirondack top provides remarkable responsiveness, headroom, and vintage character, while the maple body adds clarity, focus, and projection. The result is a tone that is both warm and articulate, with a strong, open voice that carries effortlessly. Notes ring out with excellent definition while retaining the rich character expected from a great Gibson.

Another standout feature is its weight. The guitar is surprisingly light for its size, making it exceptionally comfortable to play and highly resonant in the hands.

This guitar has been part of a private collection and remains in outstanding collector-grade condition. It has been carefully maintained and stored in a climate-controlled environment. There are no cracks, repairs, or significant blemishes.
