The Robitussin: A Limited Release from Marla Amplification x Casino Guitars x Reverb
Some projects start with a market analysis. Others start with a sound.
The Robitussin began with a conversation between Marla Amplification and our friends at Casino Guitars.
For years, Casino Guitars has been one of the most trusted voices in music retail. Through storytelling, industry insight, and a genuine love of gear, Sean and Skylar have built a reputation that few in our industry can match. They're the kind of people who remind us why we fell in love with guitars in the first place.
When we partnered to create the limited-run Robi amplifier, we wanted to build something special.
Something with character.
Something imperfect in all the right ways.
That search led us straight to one of the most fascinating circuits in guitar history: the Harmonic Percolator.
Not a fuzz. Not an overdrive.
Not quite either. And yet, perfect amounts of both.
The Harmonic Percolator occupies a strange and wonderful corner of the tonal universe where clarity, grit, sustain, and harmonic chaos all coexist. It cleans up unexpectedly. It growls when pushed. It rewards players who use their volume knob and attack as part of the instrument.
The moment we heard it integrated into the Robi amplifier, we knew it deserved a life of its own.
So now it has one.... for 10 Days...
Introducing the Robi Pedal
The Robi pedal captures the same Harmonic Percolator-inspired architecture found in the Robi amplifier and places it into a compact, completely hand-wired pedal.
Built one at a time in Asheville, North Carolina, the Robi embraces the spirit of vintage circuits while adding modern flexibility.
Features
- Completely hand-wired construction
- Harmonic Percolator-inspired fuzz circuit
- Three-position clipping selector; Soft - Medium - Hard
- Input control
- Output control
- Built in Asheville, NC
Unboxing the Robi
There are 25 unique finish options and 5 random LED options for the Robi. Chances are, you will not see another Robi in your color set out in the wild. I hope you enjoy the color combination that shows up at your door!
The Robi's come with a hand drawn "Color, Cut, & Stick" sticker set. These are not pictured, but resemble the Asheville Guitar Show "Beach Theme" that we created with Casino Guitars.
Like the original Harmonic Percolator designs, the Robi keeps things refreshingly simple. Input and Output controls allow players to shape everything from gritty edge-of-breakup textures to aggressive, harmonically rich fuzz tones.
The clipping selector expands the pedal's personality even further, offering three distinct responses that range from smooth compression to snarling, unapologetic aggression.
Why Reverb?
The answer is simple.
Reverb has spent years helping musicians discover unique instruments, builders, and sounds that might otherwise remain hidden. They're not just a marketplace—they're one of the largest communities of gear enthusiasts in the world.
This limited release allows more players to experience the Marla Amplification story and get their hands on one of our favorite circuits we've ever created.
Named After a Good Dog
The original Robi amplifier was named after Sean and Skylar's beloved dog, Robitussin.
The pedal continues that tradition.
Because some ideas are too good to leave behind.
And some dogs deserve their own signature fuzz.
Limited Release
Like the amplifier that inspired it, the Robi pedal is a limited-run release.
Hand-built.
Hand-wired.
Built with friends.
From Casino Guitars, to Marla Amplification, to Reverb, this project is a celebration of the people, stories, and sounds that make the guitar community special.
When they're gone, they're gone.
