For auction is a vintage C.G. Conn “Transitional” alto, serial #261313 (1934). Original lacqer. Wait just a minute here! If it is lacquer shouldn’t this then be a 6M? For all intensive purposes it is a 6M, BUT it does not say “6M” in the back above the serial number! Conn did not make a model called the "Transitional", the name has been given to these horns because they were made in between the New Wonder and the 6M models, made from around 1930 to 1935. The Transitional horns had several variations, this particular sax is more like the famous later model 6M (really introduced barely a year or two later in the #260,000's)  in that to begin with it is not silver plated, it has same side bell keys, nail file G# like the later period Chu Berry (between #200-240K) , G# Trill, forked Eb (working!), rolled tone holes, and Art Deco Engraving, including the famous "Naked Lady" picture on the bell. And in this regard COMPLETELY AND NEWLY REPADDED BY A MASTER REPAIRMAN. ALL NEW PADS, FELTS AND CORKS. This sax PLAYS VERY WELL RIGHT NOW. It has been thoroughly tested by us. No further work needs to be done on this saxophone, and it will give the player much, much playing time with no need of repair. No dents or dings. Unique Conn "Tuneable" neck is in excellent shape. No repair done or needed on the neck. ROLLED TONE HOLES. Original ivory (they appear to be) rollers. No high F# key. Comes in original Conn hard case (a little old looking) with period mouthpiece, reed, cork grease, neck strap. No resolders or dent work evident. Comes with Conn Tuneable neck (tuneable aspect is free and works very well!), high front F key, (and as mentioned above), nail-file G# key, working G to G# trill key, D to D# (forked Eb/D#) trill key works. These aspects of the Vintage Conn saxophone have ALL BEEN REGULATED SO THAT ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE SAXOPHONE, THEY AND EVERYTHING ELSE WORKS GREAT!
