Roger Mayer was Jimi Hendrix's tech. This pedal defined Jimi's sound on "Are You Experienced" (Purple Haze, Fire) and "Axis Bold as Love" (Little Miss Lover, One Rainy Wish). He continued to use Octave Fuzz through his entire career, especially on Electric Ladyland and later with Band of Gypsys. Roger Mayer is still with us!
The Octavia is the iconic "octave fuzz" that's lived on so many legends' boards after Jimi. This is an original in very good condition, it's been played in the man cave and that's about it. It will take both 9V battery and there's also a boss-style jack for an AC Adaptor inside the unit.
