For sale is a 1999 Collings OM2H, a wonderful example from Collings' earlier years and a guitar that showcases why these instruments have earned such a devoted following among serious acoustic players.

Older Collings guitars have developed a reputation for combining the company's legendary precision with the maturity and openness that only decades of playing can bring. This OM2H is no exception. It retains the remarkable articulation, balance, and responsiveness Collings is known for, while benefiting from over twenty years of natural aging.

The guitar has been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life. There was a body crack prior to my ownership, but it was professionally repaired by a respected luthier and is now completely stable. The repair was executed to a very high standard, and the instrument has remained structurally healthy ever since. The guitar was also evaluated by Wonmi Guitar, where the sound quality received very positive remarks.

The neck remains in excellent condition, with healthy geometry and comfortable playability throughout the fingerboard. Following the repair work, the body has remained stable and continues to perform exactly as it should.

As expected from an OM2H, the tonal character is beautifully balanced. The spruce top and Indian rosewood body produce excellent note separation, rich overtones, and outstanding dynamic response. It is equally at home with fingerstyle playing, flatpicking, and accompaniment work, offering the kind of versatility that has made the OM body shape a favorite among recording musicians.

An LR Baggs Anthem pickup system is installed, providing professional-quality amplified performance while preserving the natural acoustic voice of the instrument.

The guitar is currently strung with D'Addario XS 12-53 strings and is ready to play immediately.

An Andrew White hard case is included. The original Collings case may still be available, but it is currently stored and has not yet been located.
