Thank you for your interest in my bass. Here for your consideration is a custom 6-string bass crafted by luthier Matt Friedman, who built basses under the name Acacia from 1986 until the year 2000. The current outfit building guitars under the name "Acacia" have no connection to this instrument.
Matt Friedman hand carved all his instruments and utilized unique blends of exotic woods, and this is no exception: The neck is made out of 13 different wood laminates, including a blend or Wenge, maple and what I believe to be either Walnut, Ebony, Purpleheart or Mahogany.
The cover for the dual truss rods is carved from the same wood laminates as the neck and includes a built-in thumb rest, which is also carved in the neck wood between the pickups. The neck profile is very thin. Maybe the thinnest of any bass I have ever had.
The Top is Quilted Maple, Back is Flamed Maple (Note the control cavity cover, carved from the same piece of wood) with walnut or similar dark wood accent stripes and a maple core. The body is arched and has a carved-in "belly contour", similar to those found in Spector basses. The carved headstock is also arched.
Q Tuner passive pickups. "Growl" galore!
Fully functional with no damage. The only blemishes I found were one small ding on the tip of the headstock and one on the end of the bass about an inch away from the output jack. Please see pictures.
Includes a hard case
BONUS: Comes with an additional set of EMG 6 string active pickups
