Up for grabs is this PAIR of the famous high performance Electro Voice SP-8 B type loudspeakers.

* NOTE- I am posting these as " B-Stock" since there is no " completely re-fabricated/ like new" condition option.

These were recently completely rebuilt/overhauled at PMR in Ohio with all new OEM/ AMERICAN made components.

There are NO after market, replacement, Import or chyna crap parts in this pair, but only AMERICAN made components.

They were both completely dis-assembled, cleaned, and repainted with that golden "Hammer-Ite" vintage high enamel finish, so they even look authentic again like when they rolled off of the assembly line back in the 60s.

The magnetic gaps were verified with a gauss/flux probe and measured just fine so they were PURPOSELY not de-magnetized/re-magnetized.

From the inside out, from the voice coils out to the front mounting gaskets- EVERYTHING that wasn't the aluminum frame or magnet was replaced....

I am also including the " Build Sheet" with these, which has all of the specs/materials/size/dimensions of EACH component used.All voice coil specs are in it,,,the cone specs / weight..... spiders- EVERYTHING is described in that sheet in case anyone wants to exactly replicate these.

A few tweaks I did to these units to improve them even further...

The litz wires are COPPER litz wires.This is much better than the usual industry standard " Pot-metal" silver/gray stuff, which does nothing but smudge and smear the signal before it even gets to the voice coils... These have poured COPPER litz wires to preserve the fidelity, details, imaging, staging and presence that is in a higher end signal; quality.

Also- these use a light weight aluminum former voice coil which extends the response as well as increases the power handling a little bit. Full specs on just the voice coils are in the build sheet provided.

The surrounds have been treated with the Altec dampener, which helps remove any cone edge resonance issues and absorbs those secondary "Ghost Notes" which causes a smearing effect and eats up your details. This , even as simple as it is makes a HUGE difference in fidelity.

The response is extended by a full octave beyond what just the main cone can provide by a repressed smooth light weight repressed pulp whizzer cone. This is mounted directly onto the VOICE COIL FORMER( not the cone) in order to directly absorb the pressure wave and propagate it directly into the air.These have a single piece dust cap molded into the whizzer cone which reduces extra mass and mass is your enemy as far as top end extension...

Guys, I know I'm the one selling this pair, but these ARE that good! They are truly greater than the sum of their parts. The low end is really nice for such a small speaker. the midrange is deep and complex, and the top end is well controlled and adds the right amount of detail and sibilance.

Either ran on their own, or with just a tweeter, or even using this as a midrange in a larger 3/4 way EV system, these days"little" guys really amaze me.

* Fully tested under diagnostics and operates without any rubbing, buzzing, holes, rips, or adhesive failures- these are basically new speakers again, only BETTER!
