A fantastic example of one of Fender's most underrated vintage models.
This 1978 Fender Musicmaster delivers everything that makes these late-'70s student models so appealing today – lightweight construction, simple controls, a comfortable short-scale neck and a unique character all of its own. Originally designed as an entry-level instrument, the Musicmaster has become a cult favourite among collectors, studio players and musicians looking for a vintage Fender with a distinctive voice.
Finished in Black with a matching black pickguard, this USA-made example has aged exactly how you'd hope a nearly 50-year-old guitar would. It retains plenty of vintage charm while remaining a genuinely enjoyable instrument to play. The neck feels comfortable and familiar, while the single-coil pickup offers a direct, punchy tone that records exceptionally well.
A brilliant way into genuine vintage Fender ownership, and increasingly difficult to find in honest, unmolested condition.

Condition
Very good vintage condition.
The guitar shows honest signs of use and ageing consistent with its age, including various light scratches, marks and small dings around the body. There is some finish wear around the neck plate area, light surface scratching to the pickguard and hardware tarnishing throughout. Nothing appears out of place for a well-looked-after vintage instrument approaching fifty years old.
The neck is in great shape, the frets still have plenty of life remaining and the guitar plays beautifully.
