Martin D-10E Retro - Aging Toner

Get ready to hit the open road with a guitar that effortlessly blends timeless acoustic heritage with modern, gig-ready performance. The Martin D-10E Retro brings the bold, unmistakable authority of a classic D-14 fret dreadnought straight to your fingertips. Sporting a solid spruce top treated with a gorgeous aging toner finish, this acoustic powerhouse delivers an incredibly wide dynamic range with crisp, lively articulation. Whether you are flatpicking heavy bluegrass lines or softly counting out an intricate fingerstyle ballad, the responsive scalloped spruce X-bracing ensures every single nuance is projected with maximum clarity and volume.

Turn this beauty around and you will find a stunning solid sapele back and sides. Sapele shares a lot of sonic DNA with traditional mahogany, delivering a punchy, focused mid-range and a warm, woody low-end, but it brings an extra touch of top-end shimmer that really helps your chords cut through a dense mix. This time-tested combination creates a beautifully balanced, versatile voice that has made Martin dreadnoughts the absolute gold standard for legendary artists across generations—from Johnny Cash to Elvis Presley.

Playability is just as smooth as the tone, thanks to a select hardwood neck carved into Martin's ultra-comfortable Performing Artist profile with a High-Performance Taper. Capped with an elegant ebony fingerboard, executing fluid chord changes and fast runs across the frets feels completely effortless. And when it’s time to plug in and stand in front of a crowd, the onboard Martin E1 electronics system faithfully captures all that raw acoustic warmth, giving you a transparent, stage-ready signal complete with a handy, discreet built-in tuner.
