Here for sale we have an Epiphone USA Coronet in Vintage Cherry finish. Originally released in 1958 by Gibson under the Epiphone brand, the Coronet was one of Epiphone's earliest solid body electric guitars, and was available until 1970 in a few different pickup configurations. Since then, the instrument has been reissued twice, during the 90's and more recently in 2020 thanks to its enduring popularity, having been seen in the hands of many famous musicians; from Pete Doherty to Ace Frehley.
Made in the USA in 2022, this guitar consists of a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22-fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard. Other appointments include Vintage Deluxe tuners with White buttons, a Wraparound bridge, and a Graphtech nut. The pickup installed is a Soapbar P-90 that is wired to a master volume and a master tone control.
The Mahogany neck plays very well, with the SlimTaper profile filling the hand comfortably for a substantial and confidence-inspiring grip across the register. Certainly, the neck feels true to its late '50s roots and is much thicker than many modern profiles, yet manages to avoid being at all cumbersome. The gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation up and down the neck, whilst the generous cutaways and heel design ensure that access to the upper frets is completely uninhibited.
The P-90 Soapbar pickup installed in the bridge position delivers a thick and full bodied sound, well suited to a wide range of genres and playing styles. Thicker than the sound of a single-coil but distinct from a humbucker, the P-90 manages to sound unique despite being a very popular pickup. The lows are rich and warm, whilst the biting top end will ensure that your playing will cut through the mix. The simple controls offer ample tonal options, making this no-frills instrument actually surprisingly versatile.

Aesthetic Condition:
Headstock: Overall excellent condition, it is difficult to discern any markings to the headstock.
Neck: Overall very good condition, some finish cracking can be identified to either side of the joint between the neck and fingerboard. This is due to fingerboard separation which has been repaired by cleaning out the old glue & re-gluing the board to the neck. This poses no structural concern and is purely cosmetic. It is somewhat discernible beneath the thumb but cannot be felt in playing position and does not affect the overall playability of the instrument. The rear of the neck demonstrate very light scratching throughout visible only under direct lighting at certain angles.
Body: Overall excellent condition, all aspects of the body demonstrate infrequent very light scratching and indentation that does not pierce the finish. This is only visible under direct lighting at certain angles.
