Eastwood Avalon AV-2T 2010s - Sunburst

67/68 Avalon AV-2T Solid body "Shaggs" Guitar. NOT A 2010 GUITAR. Made in Japan by Fuji Gen Gakki guitars. The history on these instruments and how they became associated with "the Shaggs" is far too deep to concentrate on here, but there are videos on YouTube of these guitars being played and the story of the Shaggs band and their association with the instruments. If you are looking into this ad, you probably have heard the tale or at least know something about them.

The guitar was purchased 2 years ago on Reverb and is still intonated and set up. It has cracks in the finish and dings on the front, back,top and sides. Nearly 60 years old, it still plays easily has a very bright surf sound similar to Moserites from the same era. The "microphone" selector switch and the pots are scratchy. 3 knobs are original and one of the tone knobs was replaced with a volume knob. The cracks near the neck pocket where the paint is missing exposes the maple body, but is cosmetic, not structural. The cracks in the lacquer on the neck are also cosmetic. Yes, the whammy bar is included and a gig bag.
