Fully serviced and ready to go, this 1959 Magnatone Custom 260A features the legendary True Pitch-Shifting Vibrato (driven by specialized varistors) which is foot switchable. The "A" version adds a Mellow/Normal switch on Channel 1 and a Normal/Bright switch on Channel 2. The point to point, hand wired circuit puts out 35 watts through two 12 inch speakers.

The original components include the Oxford speakers (1959), output transformer (1959), and I believe the power transformer. Non original parts include a few changed capacitors, the addition of slide on speaker connectors, a three prong grounded plug, and handle. A padded LeCover cover is included.

The 260 Series was Magnatone's top of the line in the late 50s/early 60s. The Baxandall tone circuit cuts and boosts treble and bass which adds a lot of tonal flexibility. These Magnatones are known for their amazing vibrato circuit which was the first of its kind in an amp. The vibrato on this amp sounds fantastic, ranging from subtle to massive warble. This amp is not super loud for 35 watts which enables it to break up nicely at reasonable volumes. It has a nice deep tone with really great sounding overdrive.

Overall, a really great sounding amp for someone looking for something different than a Fender.
