2012 Gibson Les Paul Standard - Mahogany Top - Satin Finish
Free Pro Setup - $100 Value
See below for details.
Case: Includes Original Gibson Hard Shell Case
Description: This guitar offers the best Les Paul features from several periods. It's got traditional 1950's wiring, and a 1960's slim taper neck
Mahogany Top: Most Les Pauls have a carved maple top. The dense maple can make the guitar heavy, with many Les Pauls weighing in at over 10 lbs. In contrast this guitar has a mahogany top (like a Les Paul Custom). the top is beautiful and it saves a lot of weight. This guitar weighs in at 8.8 lbs, which is very light for a Les Paul
Satin finish: Gibson used a satin finish on this guitar, which helps to show off the beauty of the Mahogany. The satin finish also feels very good on the back of the neck.
Wiring: This guitar started life as a Les Paul Traditional, and came from the factory with 1960's wiring. We added Orange Drop tone caps and converted to 1950's wiring, which retains more highs when rolling back the volume,
Pickups: Pickups are the stock Gibson humbuckers with chrome covers and old school two-conductor braided wire. Both pickups are conventional PAF type. DC resistance is 7.4k Ohms on the neck pickup and 7.8k Ohms on the bridge pickup. They each sound fantastic when used alone and even better in the middle position, where the tone is fuller and more complex.
Sound: This Les Paul sounds wonderful unplugged and even better through a good tube amp!
