Rare 1940-43 Gibson ES-150 in Sunburst finish, featuring the highly sought-after (pre-P-90) P-13 pickup.
Originally introduced in 1936, the Gibson ES-150 became legendary with its Charlie Christian pickup mounted in the neck position. In mid-1940, Gibson updated the model with the newly developed P-13 bridge pickup, distinguished by its metal cover and adjustable pole pieces. Due to wartime production changes, Gibson's records from 1942 are incomplete, though it is known that small numbers of ES-150s continued to be built until 1943. As a result, this is an exceptionally scarce and collectible example from Gibson's golden era.
This guitar is in overall Fair condition. There is a crack down the back of the guitar (hence in my opinion making this a Project Guitar). As expected from an instrument of this age (approximately 85 yrs old), it shows honest playwear accumulated over more than eight decades, including wear on the back of its substantial, comfortable neck.
A wonderful-sounding and highly playable vintage archtop, this ES-150 delivers excellent action and tone while offering the opportunity to own a rare piece of American guitar history.
NOTE: Includes a Gibson hard case with lots of ware but it does the job.
NOTE: This guitar is being SOLD AS IS !!
NOTE: I ship via FedEx and I have FedEx pack and box the guitar before shipping!
