Big, grand, glorious, and LOUD voice! David Allen's take on a 5E7 Bandmaster circuit housed in a 2x10 tweed cab, built and signed by Mr. David Allen himself! I'm the original owner, currently sitting in the same coffee shop I was in when I spoke to him on the phone 6 years ago about ordering the amp. Got it, unpacked it, loved it, played it, but now it's time to let it go. She's never been out of the house, tweed is still in great shape - no peeling edges, etc. - she's a beauty! And the sound; loud, raucous when turned up, but holds together well with the two 10" Jensens. A 'blend' switch essentially jumpers the channels and gives you more 'roar' when you want it. Plug it in, turn it up and play some Who - just preferably not in the middle of the night because you WILL wake the neighbors and possibly find yourself served with divorce papers by next morning.
Seriously, it's a great amp, and I hate to sell anything built by Mr. Allen because a) every amp of his I've ever heard sounds great, and b) as I'm sure you know, he's not building them himself anymore (haven't heard anything built / produced by the new owners; I'm sure they're great, but they weren't built by DA). Like I say, I remember talking to him about the amp, and you could tell each of his amps was a labor of love - or at least it seemed that way to me. But it's time to go small, and time for this lady to go to someone who can squeeze those great tones out of her.
Visit the Allen website. You'll get his take on what the amp was built to do.
It won't be the heaviest amp I've shipped, but it won't be the lightest either - hence the shipping price tag. It will be double boxed, tubes pulled, foam around and inside the cab (I am of the belief that the Fender style chassis mount - up at the top with a bit of wood under and 4 bolts up top works fine when the amp is sitting around the house, but in transit I think that top-heavy configuration can wreak havoc when the carrier is tossing the box around, so I tend to use a lot of PE foam stuffing designed to lend extra support from underneath; I hope that's okay, and NO peanuts!), in other words dressed up as best I can to make sure she gets to you safe.
Only flaw I can find is some sort of scuff mark on top - see the last photo; I have no idea where it's from, but it's there and I don't want you to get the amp and hate it because there's a scuff. Hey - everybody's got their hangups. NTTAWWT.
Shipping to the Lower 48 only. Local pickup welcome. Offers welcome. Heck, life is short - everything's welcome! (Hey if you are thinking of doing local pickup, let's chat first. I'm totally cool with it, will meet you anywhere around H-town, but Reverb has a tricky thing you have to do when buying on your end to signify that you're going to do pickup, otherwise it shows forever as "awaiting shipment", and more concerning, won't disburse funds until it's "shipped". Anyways, drop me a line, thanks!)
No returns please, so if you've got any questions, need more photos, want me to take a lie detector test, lol, just ask BEFORE you hit the buy button.
Will work on posting a YT proof of life as soon as I can.
Thanks for looking!!
