Here for sale we have a Gibson SG Tribute in Natural Walnut finish. Made in the USA in 2010, this guitar features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body, a Mahogany neck, and a 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. This guitar is fitted with Chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and StopBar tailpiece, with Nickel Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with Kluson-style 'Tulip' buttons. A pair of Gibson humbucking pickups are installed, with a 490R in the neck and 490T in the bridge wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls.

The Mahogany neck plays well, with what could be described as a rather ‘Rounded’ profile that fills the hand nicely without feeling at all cumbersome. The open-pore Satin finish to the rear of the neck is very pleasant to the touch, and assists with smooth transitions up and down the register. The traditional 12" fingerboard radius feels as flat and consistent as ever, offering comfortable playability right the way up the neck. The familiar twin horns of the SG body provide uninhibited access to the upper frets, whilst the contoured edges of the body ensure that it sits snugly in the arms for a comfortable playing experience. 

The pair of Gibson humbuckers in this guitar are well regarded by Gibson players for their versatility. Whilst the hard rock tones you would expect from an SG are clearly present, the pickups offer a nice smooth and rounded tone that is suitable for a wide range of styles. Country and Blues players will like the bite of bridge pickup, whilst the warmth of the neck position can be appropriate for jazzy sounds, especially when rolling down the tone control. Independent volume and tone pots offer comprehensive control of your sound, making this a real workhorse instrument that matches the versatility of the musician.

Aesthetic Condition:

Headstock: Overall good condition. The front face demonstrates light scratching, only visible under direct light and close scrutiny. Light indentations are apparent to the front face edges, these have not removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath. The top edge rear face demonstrates scuffing and indentations, most notably to the corners, where the finish has been removed and reveals the wood beneath.

Neck: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the neck demonstrate light scratching and indentation. These cannot be felt by the fingertips beneath the string or by the hand in playing position.

Body: Overall very good condition. All aspects of the body demonstrate light scratching, scuffing and indentation. Most notably indentation to the centre of the front face lower bout that has removed the finish to reveal the wood beneath, and to the cutaway horns and lower bout edges, where the finish has been marked but not removed. Scuffing and wear to the finish is apparent to the rear face edge of the treble side waist that reveals the wood beneath. The lower bout sides demonstrate areas of yellow paint transfer that could not be removed during our cleaning process.

Condition of Frets:

The frets demonstrate light signs of use, with very light denting in the early register, not affecting playability. There is considerable material remaining for any fret work the new owner may wish to perform.

Current Set Up:

Truss Rod: Fully functional. Truss rod tool (5/16" socket) not included.

Hardware: Fully functional and very good condition. Light to mild scratching and tarnishing is apparent to the bridge and tailpiece. Light cracking is apparent to the control knobs that does not affect their functionality. Light scratching is apparent to the pickguard.

Structural: No concerns or issues to note.

Height of the string from the 12th Fret-1.5mm - Bass 2mm

Fully functional and good condition. The case demonstrates mild signs of previous use, with light staining and discoloration throughout.
