1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe – Original Vintage USA Les Paul – One Owner – Original Finish – OHSC

For your consideration we offer this 1981 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe in very good overall condition. This is a great opportunity to own a vintage Gibson Les Paul Deluxe with its original finish, original electronics, original hardware, and original hardshell case.

The Les Paul Deluxe is one of Gibson’s most distinctive Les Paul models, featuring the sought-after mini humbucker pickups that deliver a unique combination of clarity, articulation, warmth, and punch. These pickups offer a slightly brighter and more focused tone than traditional full-size humbuckers while still retaining the sustain and character associated with the Les Paul.

This guitar has been inspected and verified, (please see pictures) including the finish and electronics. The original finish was inspected under UV light in a dark room and shows no evidence of touch-up work, nor any breaks, nor any repairs.

The serial number 80271610 dates the guitar to the 27th day of 1981.

The guitar comes with its original Gibson hardshell case.

Originality verification details:

• Back control cavity was opened and inspected — original pots and wiring appear untampered with.
• Pot codes observed include:

    These date to 1980/1979, which is not unusual for a 1981 Gibson as production components were commonly carried over from existing inventory.
• Pickups were inspected:
• • Neck pickup underside shows the Patent Number marking and a partial stamp consistent with the era (the final digit is obscured). See photo's
  • Bridge pickup underside shows the Patent Number marking and a factory date stamp of AUG 20 1980. See photo's

Condition notes:

• Overall condition: Very good for a 1981 vintage instrument.
• Frets are in very good condition with only minor flat spots visible on the treble side of the first four frets. These do not affect playability — the guitar has no buzzing, dead spots, or issues fretting notes.
• The guitar has normal cosmetic wear for its age, including minor dings and bumps that are visible under proper lighting. Due to Reverb’s photo limit, please request additional photos if you would like closer detail of any specific areas.
• The pickguard has a small age-related crack running from the upper corner toward the center of the top screw hole. This is a common occurrence with older Les Paul pickguards and does not affect function.
• Three of the four amber speed knobs have hairline cracks through the center. They remain fully intact and functional; the cracks are visible due to the translucent nature of the knobs.
