Up for sale is this 2011 Fender Squier Classic Vibes 50's Left handed Stratocaster with hard shell Road Runner case. I bought 4 of these from Pro Audio back when they had a blow out sale when these were not selling well. All 4 were made in China which at the time the quality of these were unknown but have now turned out to be considered some of the best Fender Squiers to come from the Orient since the introduction of the Japanese Fenders. I sold two here locally in my store and kept 2, and now I am reducing stock once more.

The body is a poly-gloss 2-tone pine vintage tobacco sunburst, the initial body material Leo Fender started with on the early '54 Strats and Teles. It looks to be a solid one piece as I can find no seam but I'm going to assume its a 2-piece just because.....It weighs in at just a tad over 7 lbs, as close to a vintage weight as you'll ever get, you can wear this all night long! Body cavity is paint shielded and routed for a humbucker in the bridge should you desire. If you're a Buddy Holly or Eric Johnson guitar junkie you'll love this one. These Chinese 50's are considered far more superior to the later ones coming out of Indonesia and as of 2018 the left handed 50's Classic is no longer being produced. The ones from Indonesia are made from Nyatoh.

There is one nick on the side pictured, other than that this is cherry.

Neck is hard maple, 9.5 radius with 21 narrow tall frets, bone nut width 1.650", slim and much closer to a 60's C shape than the traditional early chunky boat/soft "V" neck 50's. Tuners are vintage square back Kluson type, and as of now, none have needed replacing and they hold tuning but wild use of trem will of course cause out of tune issues to occur.

Electronics are far superior to what you might have expected....very sweet and vintage sounding Tone Rider alnico 5 pickups, dime sized vol and tone pots, with the tone pot being lefty tapered so you get a gradual reduction or increase in your tone control. The 5-way is the only weak spot in the electronics and expect to need replacement at some time, but for now there are no issues electronics-wise. You might want to go with other pickups, but only because YOU want to, not because they're needed.

I have made only 2 modifications...at the headstock I replaced the 70's "T" shaped string tree with the proper round period correct unit. And I replaced the 3/4 pot metal tremolo bridge block and saddle with a Mexi unit that required no hole drilling modification as it was a direct replacement. The improvement in sound and clarity was immediate and worth the swap. Stock "T" string tree and original bridge are included.

These are getting rarer by the day and if you cant afford the original or even an American 50's reissue then this baby will satiate that need!
