Although the AR550 is not an official signature model, it has a close connection to Yasuhiro Suzuki, formerly of the band Off Course. At Suzuki’s request, the AR550 replaced the individual Tri-sound switches with a single Duo-sound switch, making pickup switching simpler and more practical for live performance. In addition, the passive tone controls were removed in order to minimize noise and high-frequency loss in the complex active circuit.

The AR550 was sold only in Japan and was discontinued after 1984. Production is believed to have been very limited, and it is said that only around 38 examples were made in Polar White.

Specifications:

Ebony fingerboard
3-piece maple neck
Mahogany body
Flame maple top
Super 58 pickups with 3-band EQ, offering a wide range of tonal possibilities
The active circuit is fully functional.

Considering its age, there are some normal dings, scratches, and signs of use on the body. There is one area where the binding has come loose. No original case is included. Other than that, the guitar is all original.

It will be shipped from Japan.
