Director Shooting Star Cornet serial number C86518, which indicates manufacture in 1982. Priced low because the leadpipe has red rot and Abilene not Elkhard made. Otherwise, no significant flaws; no major dents anywhere including on slide bends. The finish is well worn, but retains enough lacquered areas to look shiny and bright. Cleaned and lubed. All caps and slides move easily. Valves look great and move smoothly. Plays nicely and seems to have good compression. Red rot is slow death, but very slow and this should last for years and would make a good starter instrument or back up. Comes with very worn case but functional with working locks and Conn mouthpiece which has some gouges where, typically, someone probably used pliers to remove it. SHIPPING IS FREE!!!
