This is a one-off build from master-luthier Hugh Manson, purchased in 1989 from Andy’s guitar shop on Denmark Street, London.
It’s a wonder of miniature luthiery, with a 24 fret neck, scalloped from 14th fret, despite it’s 2/3 scale proportions.
The immaculate build includes, from the headstock down (see pictures)
mini-Schaller locking machine-heads
Mini-Schaller locking nut
Jumbo steel frets, meticulously graduated towards the bridge
EMG pick ups
Floyd-Rose fully adjustable Whammy bar/tailpiece.
Beautiful book-matched maple on a mahogany body.
Custom plush lined metal flight case.
Being a 2/3 scale guitar, it’s tuned to B , for reasonable tension, and is very playable, if you have a deft left hand technique.
More of a guitar builder’s masterpiece than a concert instrument, this is a true one-off build from one of the UK’s most highly regarded electric guitar luthiers/builders.
One for true collectors, which, due to a left hand injury, I can sadly no longer enjoy.
