Up for sale, a 2005 Gibson J-150 Rosewood in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. While the J-150 was produced from 1999-2005, this particular instrument is an exceedingly rarer variant, made in limited quantities and only available in 2005, featuring solid bookmatched Indian rosewood back and sides (as opposed to the standard curly maple).

Just like Gibson’s “King of the Flat-tops,” the J-200, the J-150 has a 17” lower bout width, and a body depth of over 4 1/2“, making this instrument a prodigious strummer with fantastic projection and power on tap. However, the rosewood back/sides of this particular J-150 iteration result in a sonic palette with exceptional power, detail and headroom. There’s more lower midrange warmth and bass register push than with a standard maple back/sides Jumbo, mirroring the tonal profile of Gibson’s Pre-War J-200. This Gibson is also fitted with a Fishman Active Transducer (undersaddle) from the factory for additional on-stage flexibility. This J-150 weighs 5lbs 1oz, benefitting from a professional setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.
