The Gretsch G6122 Country Gentleman (as used and associated with George Harrison and Chet Atkins) is a fully hollow electric guitar built with a laminated maple body, typically 17-inch lower bout dimensions and a double-cutaway Electrotone design. It uses a set maple neck with an ebony fingerboard featuring neo-classic thumbnail inlays, 22 frets, and a 24.6-inch scale length. The body is constructed without traditional soundholes, using a sealed top design to reduce feedback while retaining hollowbody resonance.

The hardware includes a pinned rocking bar bridge mounted on an ebony base, a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece, and gold-plated hardware in most 1960s-era and reissue configurations.
