Offering a vintage 1960's gorgeously maintained Electro-Voice 644 "Sound Spot" shotgun dynamic microphone. Nearly mint condition, painted casing is in excellent shape, and it sounds great as well! Some of these were chromed, but this one came in a flat Beige, usually marketed toward film-studio to avoid light reflections. These "shotgun-style" mics are specifically designed to capture sound from more distant location without introducing unnecessary background....kinda like a laser-pointer for sound. (Check out the voice sample on the listing video.)  

Now for some shotgun-mic history. Ever since sound motion pictures came out, technicians have struggled to pick up speech with sufficient clarity. Problem was, getting the mic close enough to the actors without the mic being seen by the camera!  Then there was the challenge of miking things from a distance without picking up unwanted noise. Well, in 1959, Electro-Voice solved those problems with their invention of the "shotgun" microphone, and it won the company an Academy Award! The 644 is a later version of their shotgun mic.
