1998 Gibson EC-30 BKE Blues King Electro Acoustic-Electric Guitar W/ OHSC
How's it going! You're looking at a 1998 Gibson EC-30 BKE Blues King Electro Acoustic-Electric Guitar with its original hard shell case!!
Handcrafted on February 9th, 1998 in the legendary Gibson Acoustic factory in Bozeman, Montana, this Gibson EC-30 Blues King Electro is celebrated as the direct predecessor of the iconic J-185 EC and offers the signature punch, projection, and balanced frequency response that Gibson jumbos are famous for. It is an exceptional instrument for both heavy strumming and intricate fingerstyle work. The guitar features a comfortable mahogany neck with a medium C-shaped neck profile that sits beautifully in the hand, paired with a traditional short scale length that softens string tension for effortless fretting and smooth bends. The downsized 16-inch jumbo body shape delivers the same sonic presence of a larger instrument while remaining physically manageable and comfortable against your torso. Acoustically, the solid Sitka spruce top paired with maple back and sides creates a wonderfully articulate, punchy voice, characterized by sparkling high-end and a balanced mid-range. Plugged in, the factory active onboard preamp accurately mirrors the guitar's natural acoustic properties and translates its crisp articulation perfectly. Cosmetically, this guitar is in great used condition for a guitar that has been played and loved for over three decades. It shows minor signs of honest player wear, along with an area of lacquer flaking and finish separation on the side where the top coat has lifted, which also extends to minor chipping along the white binding edge in a few spots. This wear is purely cosmetic, does not affect the structural integrity or stability of the wood, and adds to the honest vintage character of a well-traveled 30-year-old instrument (See photos provided). All of the electronics are in full working order, the neck is perfectly straight, the intonation is spot on, and the action is excellent. There is some minor fret wear apparent on the top few frets, but this does not affect the guitar's exceptional playability. This guitar has been professionally set up with fresh new strings, weighs in at exactly 5 pounds, 5 ounces, and comes complete with its original hard shell case. It is ready to be played and enjoyed by its next owner for years to come, so don't miss out on the opportunity to own this rare 1998 Gibson Blues King Electro!
