Up for sale, a 2022 Gibson Custom Shop Historic ‘58 Korina Explorer in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original Historic hardshell case, CoA, and all hangtags. This exceptionally rare iteration of the Explorer platform is one of just 15 produced worldwide in custom color Cardinal Red VOS, boasting all korina construction, a pair of CustomBucker PAFs, and gold-plated hardware.
Korina, colloquially known as "super mahogany," has great fundamental warmth and note detail with dense harmonics and a particularly lively quality. At the heart of this guitar are a pair of CustomBuckers, Gibson's latest highly praised PAF iteration; featuring Alnico III magnets, these low-medium output pickups have all the chirp, honk, and bloom a player could want. The pickup set is dynamic, highly detailed, and balanced, comfortably versatile with any playing style. The bridge pickup has plenty of bite and growl, while the neck pickup has the buttery girth and power one expects, interacting particularly well with the korina construction. This Custom Shop ‘58 Korina Explorer weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
