This thing is a real diamond in the rough.
A real unicorn. Forbus Special M-Series, handmade in Nashville by a Mr. John Forbus, who was a local woodworker and craftsman. He was a line worker and technition at the Saturn factory in Middle Tennessee and he made guitars as a hobby / labor of love.
He only made a handful of these a year and he usually consigned them at World Music here in Nashville, so there are not many of these floating around. I had a nice chat on the phone with his daughter who filled me in on a lot of the details. The stuff of legends. It is hard to track down a ton of info on him otherwise (like, his first name for example) or his work, but I did find a few that were sold off online 10-ish years ago.
This things plays and sounds gorgeously. The craftsmanship is truly exquisite. It plays and feels like a real vintage single cut. Comes with Seymour Duncan humbuckers. If you are looking for a truly unique sounding and playing guitar, made in the USofA for under $2k; you have found it.
As always, we cleaned it up, polished the finish, flushed the electronics (if applicable), changed the strings, performed all routine maintenance and set the action low and smooth. All of our packages are packed tight enough to survive the apocalypse and we insure every parcel for the full purchase amount.
Got questions? Shoot me a message, I love nerding out with other gearheads!
