Vintage 1950's Shure 510C controlled reluctance microphone High Z harp mic w cable 410 510 # 2

 You are looking at a very unique Shure Brothers 510C model "Hercules" controlled magnetic microphone which comes with an original short cable in which to operate.

  Pic # 2 is from an old Shure catalog showing this very model mic and it's basic characteristics. The 510C / 510S was a general purpose microphone that was usually used for dispatch purposes and was an affordable, rugged mic with an all metal, painted housing. These microphones either came with Controlled Reluctance or Controlled Magnetic elements that hold up very well with time and happen to make excellent harp mic elements today with a muddy, dirty High Z tone.

 This mic has the Controlled Reluctance element that works like new. It's still in it's white plastic housing. You can see the 99G86 model number but the last 3 digits are hard to see. It's 100% original with crazy strong output. 

 The 510C could placed directly on a flat surface or if you had the adapter you could place it on any desk or floor stand you have. This example does not come with that lower adapter.   

 This 510C is a very good example showing very lite wear on the stock green painted finish with just a few small scratches, a couple spots of paint loss. No dents or fractures and looks very good overall. The Shure logo looks great too as does the inner yellow colored cloth screen. No odors or rips. I'd rate it a true 7 on a scale of 1 - 10. It's certainly worthy of any vintage mic collection. Many would rate much higher.

  This microphone has an original 7 foot cable that's still soft and pliable. It has a standard male 1/4 inch end connector as well for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers.

 The dimensions of the mic with adapter is appx 4 1/2 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide X 1 1/2 inches deep.

  A very nice display piece that will draw attention anywhere it sits in the home, studio or office. Hook her up and use on that harmonica as well.
