The RODE NT1-A is a large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone with a 1-inch gold-sputtered capsule. It uses a JFET impedance converter with bipolar output buffer and an internal shock mount to reduce stand and handling noise. The cardioid pattern focuses on the source while rejecting off-axis sound, and it handles up to 137 dB SPL with low self-noise for detailed capture of vocals and acoustic instruments. It requires 24V or 48V phantom power and outputs via a 3-pin XLR connector. The side-address design includes a gold dot to indicate the pickup direction. Frequency response covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of -32 dB re 1 Volt/Pascal.
