Catalinbread manufactures a variety of effects pedals in Portland, Oregon, USA. At Catalinbread, we study various vintage gear and the "sounds" of numerous artists, thoroughly analyzing what equipment was used and what playing styles and settings were employed.
The sound of the 1960s lives on in the Fuzzrite.
This mini version faithfully reproduces the original circuit in collaboration with the estate of Semie Moseley, founder of Mosrite. This classic American fuzz box produces a distinctive, raw vintage fuzz tone.
This fuzz is loved by many bands and is best known for its use in Iron Butterflyfs gIn-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.h No other pedal captures the sound that defined an era quite like this one.
Controls
Volume: Controls the output volume of the circuit. Turning this up drives the amp into overdrive, adding thickness and smoothness to the fuzz sound. Turn it all the way up!
Depth: The heart of the pedal, this knob essentially acts as a blend control, mixing the gain from the second-stage transistor into the first-stage transistor. At the minimum setting, you get a clean, fat sound from the first-stage transistor alone. As you blend in the second-stage transistor, youfll find a variety of sounds at different points: lower-voltage gate sounds, pseudo-ring modulation-style high-frequency harmonics, and at the maximum setting, a thinner, more aggressive saturation sound with a shredding top-end attack and a rich, expansive tone.
The Fuzzrite Mini is powered by a standard center-negative 9V DC adapter.
