Vintage High End Master Luthier Built

1980 Yamaha L-15 Luxury Series Acoustic Guitar

Master Built in Japan (Signed Label)

With Original Case, Strap, Truss Rod Tool

Up for sale is a beautiful 1980 Yamaha L-15 "Nippon Gakki" Acoustic Master Built In Japan. The L-15 was one of Yamaha's higher-end models from the famous L-Series, with the "L" standing for Luxury. These guitars were built during the golden era of Japanese guitar production and remain highly respected for their outstanding craftsmanship, premium tonewoods, exceptional sound, and remarkable attention to detail.

This example includes the original Yamaha hard case, original strap, original truss rod adjustment tool, and a desirable original signed label dated 1980.

Overall, the guitar is in very good vintage condition and plays beautifully over the entire fingerboard. The neck is straight, the truss rod operates as it should, and the current string height measures approximately 3/32" at the body with good saddle remaining for future adjustment. The guitar produces the rich, balanced tone these early Luxury Series guitars are known for.

The guitar does have a professionally repaired and stable top crack on the lower bout as pictured. There is also a repaired crack at the endpin/strap button area. Both repairs appear solid and stable with no issues noted. Outside of these repairs, the guitar shows only average playwear and flaws consistent with a well-cared-for vintage instrument. Flaws may consist of minor dings, dents, scratches, marks, scuffs, finish impressions, and finish checking from age and use. There will be discoloration of the gold hardware and the fret wear is minimal as pictured.
