I am offering a Martin OM-21 from 2012, a handcrafted in Nazareth, Pennsylvania (USA), all-solid timber acoustic guitar classic from the Martin Standard Series featuring a handy OM/000 design, fine-grained Sitka spruce top, back and sides made of beautifully figured East Indian rosewood, set selected hardwood neck with Modified Low Oval profile and 44.45mm bone nut, fine ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dot inlays, open-back Martin nickel vintage-style tuners, all finished in a radiant natural high-gloss nitrocellulose finish with a faux tortoise pickguard, in very good condition, including a black Martin luxury hardshell case and professional setup with 12-gauge Elixir strings.
The traditional OM-14 Fret acoustic guitar is crafted from the finest materials and features an exceptionally tasteful, timeless design. The instruments in the 21 Series are modeled after Martin’s 28 Series, but omit some of the decorative elements. The tonewoods are the same, and the OM-21 is in no way inferior to an OM-28 in terms of craftsmanship and sound.
This beautiful 2012 OM-21 model comes from the Standard Series, which combines the historical construction methods and proven sound concepts of Martin’s pre-war models with contemporary refinements. The selection of the top wood demonstrates how expertise and experience are directly incorporated into Martin’s guitar-making. A finely grained Sitka spruce top delivers a bright and powerful sound experience, particularly in the mid and high frequencies, with a long-lasting resonance in the overtones. Due to its high resonance, the top, in combination with the thinner (1/4") scalloped X-bracing, builds up an incomparable dynamic range that is particularly noticeable when strumming.
To round out the sound, the back and sides made of East Indian rosewood ensure clear bass and harmonic balance. Thus, despite its small size, the guitar produces a voluminous and richly nuanced tone that still conveys a warm character.
A sound sample of the model can be found above at the end of the photo gallery.
The combination of a classic 645mm scale length, the 44.45mm bone nut, and the Modified Low Oval neck profile also ensures a pleasantly smooth playing feel.
