UPDATE JULY 24:

Hopefully this is my last update, but I found all the spare tubes I bought for this, which is the main 4 x EL34B large tubes, and 4 x 12AX7 small tubes. All are included in this sale. Online I see some places saying 5 of the 12AX7 tubes are needed for a full replacement, so that might be one oversight on my part, just keep that in mind if you want a literal full set, but one extra tube would be inexpensive. Also, I've updated the photos with screenshots of the original auction website, matching serial number information, and I've included screenshots of all of the prices and costs that went into this. The final shot shows a table of everything I bought (which totaled $6795.94 in 2021/2022), as well as the adjusted priced in today's dollars (which is $8340.46), according to an online inflation calculator. The only thing I couldn't find and didn't document was the price of a 12AX7 pair, so I put a placeholder in of $50, which is likely on the low side.

Previous Description with slight corrective edits:

The time has come for me to part ways with this amp, which is a bummer, but hopefully it will find its way to a good owner.

This is the actual, personal amplifier that Alexi Laiho used to tour with Children of Bodom before he died. It is his backup amp, and the main one was an identical model. A while after Alexi died, his estate auctioned some of his gear, and I became the lucky custodian of this beautiful monster. Sadly, I haven't used it anywhere near what it deserves, and I would rather recoup funds, and have this find a home with someone who will treat it as much care and shredding as it deserves.

I realize the price I'm listing is quite high, but it is reflective of what I paid for it, and I wouldn't be profiting from this, just recouping. I only ever put 15–20 hours on it, so it's effectively in the same condition it was when it arrived to me. It has spent the bulk of its time stored safely in the studio where I work. Coincidentally, I'm posting this exactly five years after it arrived to me on May 28th, 2021. There is one alteration made, and that was to replace the input transformer and fuse with ones designed for a 120V infrastructure (that was $329.37 at the time). This amp of course was originally from Finland, with about a 230V grid. I purchased the transformer through a Marshall dealer in North Hollywood called Valley Sound Music Technologies, who are great. They had to special order it from Marshall. It's the same construction as the original one, just set for 120V. The original 230V transformer will also be included. There was no soldering involved, simply bolts and press-on connectors.

As you can see in the photos, the green markings that Alexi's guitar tech had put on there are still there. By chance I had bought some microphones from him on Reverb (two of the Slate mics in my other ads), it came up that he was the guitar tech (what luck!), and he's the one who told me about the auction in the first place. He's a really nice guy, and really informative.

Of note is that the back grill was not included, nor were the feet on the bottom. I believe this was stored in a rack, so it could be the feel were removed to make it fit, and I'm not sure about the grill, but that's how it arrived to me.

Finally, I do have documentation showing that this is the amp purchased from the auction, but I'm reluctant to just display it in the ad. I am happy to share it with anyone who is legitimately interested, but I would want to talk beforehand. I couldn't find access to the original auction page (might be down because it's old), but somewhere on an old hard drive I have a few screenshots of what it looked like at the time. I'll update this ad if I can. I am very happy to answer any questions you have about this, as I imagine there might be some. Thank you for reading this! Rest in peace, Alexi.
