Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.

You are looking at a very unique and attractive microphone made by Lafayette back in the 1960's that is in excellent working order and has a dual Z option depending on how the cable is wired. A great omni-directional dynamic microphone that can be used for both general broadcasting and singing purposes but you'll need a Japanese 4 pin type cable in which to operate.

The Lafayette 99-45460 model was an all metal construction being very rugged and having a beautiful satin chrome finish. A larger but lite weight microphone with decent sound characteristics.

The microphone itself resembles the classic American E.V 664 in size and shape though the E.V 664 was far superior in sound. The 99-45460 had a basic dynamic element as where the 664 had a dynamic cardioid element being superior in sound quality but the E.V 664 was a very popular mic and Lafayette was trying to play off of their success. From a distance the 99-45460 and 664 look almost identical.

Several Japanese manufacturers sold this model such as Midland and Calrad.

As you can see in the pictures provided the satin chrome body is quite nice having extremely lite lite wear. Just a few lite scuff marks and small scratches that is hard to see from even a couple feet away. The on / off switch works just as it should and the joint mechanism works perfectly as well. The threads for both the cable and stand are excellent. The Lafayette badge looks pretty good too with typical lite wear.

The front grill is free of any tarnish, odors or dents which is always a bonus.

This mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you might have and I sell several if one is needed for this mic.

Again, you'll notice that there is no cable included but there is a 4 pin connector included that has all the pieces needed. You'll have to build your own cable if you plan on operating the mic. Again, you can wire this High Z or Low Z depending on your needs. A great deal if you don't mind spending a little time soldering up a new cable. Should only take an hour or less to build the cable.

This mic is easily a 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10 cosmetically speaking. It will make a very fine display piece as well if you don't plan on using the mic.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

I do have several older desk and floor stand if one is needed for the mic.

As with all my vintage microphones...
