Up for sale is a Fender Custom Shop Limited 1961 Telecaster finished in Aged Silver Sparkle with a relic nitrocellulose lacquer finish.
This guitar sounds incredible. Truly one of those Custom Shop Teles that makes sense the second you plug it in. The bridge pickup is absolutely the star here, with all the snap, punch, clarity, and bite you want from a great Tele, but with a depth and musicality that keeps it from ever feeling thin or harsh. The neck pickup is a Hand-Wound Custom Shop Twisted Tele, giving you an open, clear, almost Strat-like neck position while still keeping the character of the guitar intact.
This exact guitar originally came from Wildwood Guitars, where it retailed for $4,700. It is also the exact guitar featured in the Wildwood Guitars demo video, and that video is the reason I bought it. Listen to the bridge pickup in that demo and you’ll understand immediately.
It has the classic early-’60s Tele feel with a comfortable ’60 Oval C maple neck, a very playable 9.5” radius, and 21 narrow-tall 6105 frets. The AAA rosewood fingerboard is especially beautiful on this one, with a deep, dark chocolate color that looks incredible against the Silver Sparkle finish. The neck measures .79” at the 1st fret and .93” at the 12th, giving it a nice slim-to-medium vintage-inspired profile without feeling too small.
The guitar weighs 7.59 lbs, making it a comfortable weight for a Custom Shop Tele. Hardware includes vintage-style tuners, nickel/chrome hardware, and a ’60-style Tele bridge with compensated brass saddles. The look is completed with a 3-ply mint green pickguard, which pairs beautifully with the silver sparkle finish.
The guitar has been barely played and is currently set up with 10s.
Includes the brown hardshell case, Certificate of Authenticity, and original case candy, including the original strap.
At full asking price, I will also include a custom strap from Wilco’s Loft, made specifically for this guitar. It suits the guitar perfectly and really completes the look.
