Maybach Lester ‘59 2020 - Aged ‘59 Burst

This is a stunning, heavily aged Maybach Lester that looks and feels like a well-loved 1959 Les Paul that’s been on the road for 60+ years — but was actually built in late 2020 by the small family-run Maybach workshop in the Czech Republic and set up in Germany.

The Finish

The Midnight Sunset burst is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen on any modern “aged” Les Paul-style guitar. Deep, rich reds and mahoganies on the back and sides fade into a glowing amber/orange center on the highly flamed maple top. The nitrocellulose finish has developed authentic, heavy checking all over the body and neck, plus natural-looking dings, edge wear, and finish checking that only comes from proper aging (not cheap “relic” spray). The cream binding, aged pickguard, and hardware all match the vintage vibe perfectly. It photographs even better in person.

Condition

Excellent overall. The aging is intentional and beautifully executed — no cracks, no structural issues, etc.. It plays and sounds fantastic right now. with great sustain, and that unmistakable Les Paul magic.
