The SJ-200 Studio Rosewood is Gibson's more understated take on their iconic Super Jumbo — same full-depth body and commanding projection, but with satin-finished rosewood back and sides that give it a distinctly different tonal character from the more common maple-bodied models.

Rosewood on an SJ-200 is a nod to rare pre-war vintage models, and the tonal difference is real: deeper, richer lows with complex overtones and a warmer overall voice. The gloss nitrocellulose lacquer-finished Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing balances the rosewood warmth with crisp, resonant highs and wide dynamic range. The lightly applied nitro finish lets the guitar resonate fully and will age naturally over time.

The Advanced Response neck profile sits in a comfortable middle ground — not too full, not too slim — and the satin nitro finish on the neck keeps things fast and smooth. The rosewood fingerboard has 20 frets, a 16" radius, and classic mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays. Hardware is Grover Rotomatic tuners and a GraphTech TUSQ nut, saddle, and bridge pins for reliable tuning stability and clean transfer of string vibration.

Electronics are the L.R. Baggs Element Bronze — an active under-saddle piezo pickup with a soundhole-mounted volume control for quick adjustments on the fly.
