Up for sale is a Gibson USA Charlie Starr Les Paul Junior Limited Edition Walnut, an extremely limited model with only 250 pieces produced worldwide.
Purchased brand new in 2024, this guitar includes all original paperwork, hard case, and case candy.
As someone who also owns a Les Paul Standard, I can confidently say this guitar offers a completely different kind of charm. It carries the rawness, immediacy, and organic resonance that make great Les Paul Juniors so addictive.
About the Model
This limited edition was created based on a digitally scanned recreation of the actual Les Paul Junior used by Charlie Starr of Blackberry Smoke, capturing both the feel and tonal philosophy of his personal instrument.
The simplicity of the Junior design is exactly what makes it special:

The Mahogany body and neck, combined with Gibson’s High-Build Premium Satin Nitrocellulose finish, deliver the thick, resonant midrange that defines a great Les Paul Junior.
The Artist Spec 50s neck profile feels substantial yet extremely comfortable, paired with a quality Indian Rosewood fingerboard for a balanced and articulate response.
Tone
The standout feature is the Overwound Dogear P-90.
Compared to a traditional P-90, it retains the vintage sparkle and touch sensitivity while offering:
- More output
- Fuller mids
- Better drive response
It genuinely feels like a perfect midpoint between:
- The raw aggression of a Les Paul
- And the snap and openness of a Strat-style guitar
