Up for grabs is this PAIR of 12" field coil/ wide range loudspeakers..

They were recently fabricated at PMR in Ohio with all new OEM/ AMERICAN made components.

There are NO after market, replacement, import crap, or chyna junk in these, but ONLY AMERICAN made parts..

........'Fellas', even if you don't buy from me- BUY AMERICAN!!!

The frames are a heavy stamped steel gauge. They have to be, because these have the electro magnetic assemblies that have the .625" ( 5/8"!) thick iron in the circuit!... These are heavy, beefy, meaty, heavy duty speakers.

I'll itemize each component used in this custom build so that you know exactly what you are getting, and how these will sound...

Here we go:

*Front mounting gaskets- 4/8 hole mounting pattern/ RuBi-Tex material for an air tight seal

*Surround- .010" thick treated and sealed CLOTH accordion profile

*"Pin-Stripe" white dampener ring in surround ( more on that later)

*Straight/conical profile cone/ ribbed

*Repressed pulp " RHINO KONZ pulp formulation/ 14 gram body weight

* Large whizzer cones / repressed pulp/4" O.D.

*COPPER Litz wires( more on that later)

*Treated textile/ cupped profile spider assembly/ dampener/ center suspension

*ALUMINUM dust cap for extended response ( More on that later too)

*1.550" diameter voice coil

*Aluminum voice coil former

*PURE copper windings ( NOT that CCAW crap!)

*Overall depth-7.5"

*Weight-14 pounds

*Voice Coil Impedance- 16 Ohms

*Field Coil- 250 Ohms

*Bucking coil- .1 Ohms

*Response~ 90Hz- 10.5KHz

That'll give you guys a good idea what's inside and how she'll sound...

A few points about this unit...

The surround has been treated with ReZon-Ex.. This helps absorb and omit those cone edge resonances and get rid of those secondary reflected"Ghost Notes" that others posses...

I use COPPER Litz wire on ANYTHING I build or service. The copper is far superior to the usual silver/gray "pot-Metal" industry standard stuff... That stuff is cheap to manufacture which is why 99.9% of everyone else uses it. That stuff only smudges and smears the signal BEFORE it even gets to the voice coil.By using copper litz wire, you get to hear the actual capabilities of what the device can provide you.

The dust cap is an aluminum dust cap. USUALLY they can sound harsh, but they DO extend response quite a bit.Sooo, what I did- before I installed them, I lightly coated the INSIDE surface with ReZon-Ex to dampen out that harshness, but retain the capability to propagate the frequencies higher than otherwise possible. It sits directly on top of the voice coil former, so it acts like a small mid/tweeter dome radiator right in the middle of that whizzer cone..

The RHINO KONZ pulp is one of the recent Hempopotamus LOUDspeaker's formulations of different pulp types to perform different specific tasks... That gray colored pulp contains several additives which keeps the stored energy to a minimal, and have a nice clean spectral decay measurement. It contains special binders, Kapok, hemp fibers, and balsa wood pulp, for a light weight, responsive, yet stiff and " fast" sounding voice to it..

Gentlemen, these speakers truly are greater than the sum of their parts...

These are much better than any of those old 1940s/50s used units that you'll find out there,m and plus- they are what? 70? 80 years old or more?... Those parts suffer from dry rot, moisture fatigue, adhesives oxidize, and not to mention- what UV rays damage... It's the parts you CAN'T see that will fail on you.

These are all new components, and you'll get new product performance, quality, response and longevity.

I played around with these at different voltages and different types of enclosures.. ..

They sounded fabulous in rear loaded bass horns, open baffles, and even vented enclosures...
