The 10" Rack Tom and 16" Floor Tom were special-ordered from Yamaha during the transition period from Maple Custom to Maple Custom Absolute so all the drums are Maple Custom shells. Yamaha ran out of Maple Custom badges, hence why they used MCA badges.
The Maple Custom series toms are 7 plies and the bass drum is 10 plies making these drum heavier compared to the Absolute shells making these perfect for live performances due to their greater projection, volume, and structural integrity!
