Up for sale is this vintage 1960 Danelectro DC-1 electric guitar. We have a saying around the office: "Danelectro stuff is ALWAYS cool!" and it's true, especially the lesser seen models like this DC-1.

This particular example is in nice condition for its age but was obviously well-loved over the years, showing a ton of very attractive wear to the original finish. The instrument is all original with the exception of the bottom strap button. The original lipstick pickup sounds great and all of the electronics, including the tone switch, work as intended.

Our tech has just gone over this one by cleaning it up, polishing the frets, oiling the fretboard, installing a fresh set of strings, and tweaking the set up a bit. He did note that, as is common on these as they did not have adjustable truss rods, that there is a slight amount of relief in the neck. With that being said, it plays nicely with comfortable action on the lower side of medium all the way up the neck. He also noted, again as typical on these, there is some fret buzz here and there especially if you're a heavy-handed player. All of that out of the way, needless to say that this one isn't perfect but we can't be swayed to not love it.

A newer, but used, Fender gig bag is included and the instrument will be well-packed inside and out to ensure safe shipping. When these pop up on the market, they're usually priced higher with way more issues so don't miss out on this one...
