Up for sale is a beautiful 2014 Paul Reed Smith SC245 in the rare and eye-catching Leprechaun Tooth finish. This is PRS’s classic single-cutaway, short-scale Core model with a carved maple top, mahogany back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard, and the comfortable 24.5” scale length that gives the guitar a warm, slinky, vintage-inspired feel. PRS described the SC245 as having a carved maple top, mahogany back, mahogany “Pattern” neck, rosewood fretboard, and PRS 2-piece bridge.
This guitar has been upgraded with PRS 85/15 pickups, giving it excellent clarity, strong note separation, and a more open modern/vintage voice than the stock configuration. The 85/15 set is known for balanced full-spectrum clarity with extended highs and lows, making this guitar great for everything from clean blues and worship tones to classic rock, heavier gain, and studio work.
The SC245 layout is familiar and versatile: two volume controls, two tone controls, and a 3-way toggle switch, making it easy to blend or balance the neck and bridge pickups just like a traditional single-cut guitar. Comparable SC245 listings and PRS descriptions note this control layout along with the short-scale singlecut design.
Plays and sounds excellent. The short scale makes bends easy, the mahogany/maple construction gives it plenty of sustain and punch, and the pickup upgrade adds clarity and articulation while keeping the guitar very musical.
