The original Axe-Fx upended the industry by being the first device for musicians to put a military/industrial-grade DSP into a consumer product. Leveraging the power of this DSP allowed detail and realism that no other product had previously achieved. The Axe-Fx II expanded on this concept by putting two of those same DSPs to work. Continuing the legacy of this philosophy the Axe-Fx III harnesses the power of no fewer than four separate processors.

Two 1.25 GHz, floating-point “Keystone” Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) comprise the main audio engine*. These processors are the most powerful DSPs available delivering over twice the performance of the DSPs used in our previous generation products. To feed these advanced processors we coupled 4Gb of blazing fast PC1600 DDR3 memory, hundreds of Mb of FLASH memory, a proprietary FPGA and a rich set of peripherals.

The stunning color display is controlled by a dedicated graphics processor while USB traffic and user interface tasks are handled by a 500 MHz, 16-core microcontroller providing smooth operation and robust USB performance

FC-12 Foot Controller

The FC-12 and FC-6 were designed to be easy to use while granting extreme flexibility. For those who want simplicity, the unit is virtually plug-and-play. Use the “Master Layout Menu” to select from “Layouts” — pages of footswitches arranged in familiar and intuitive ways. On each layout, the LED rings change color to show switch functions and statuses (on/off/dim), while “smart” LCD mini-displays eliminate guesswork (and the need for labels!) with an automatic readout for each switch.

For simple changes, use “EZ Mode” to modify any switch in seconds. Just tap and turn to select from different ways to control presets, banks, scenes, effects, channels, tuner, tempo, looper, control switches, and more.

Such simplicity does not come at the cost of flexibility, however. Creative users can design and build their dream controller with ease. Modify any layout with any arrangement of tap and hold functions, customize mini-display text, and more. You can even override the functions of individual footswitches on a per-preset basis!

The processor is enclosed in an SKB Travel Case. The case, FC12 foot controller and EV-1 Expression pedal have minor scuffs. The bundle works great with no issues.

EV-1

Our new EV Series products combine high-quality expression pedal and analog volume into one top-quality unit. The expression pedal jack is designed to work perfectly with all Fractal Audio Systems products—and many 3rd party devices as well. Unlike most expression pedals it has a true linear response with planetary gearing and a long, smooth throw. Each EV pedal can also serve as an analog volume pedal, with separate IN and OUT jacks connected to an audio-taper pot. They feature a sturdy cast metal housing, comfortable non-slip rubber tread, and are available in two sizes: the full-sized EV-1 and the compact-sized EV-2.
