ABOUT THE GUITAR...
This TPP Keith Richards "Micawber" Les Paul Custom Tribute (Non-Relic / Broadcaster) was produced by The Painted Player Guitar Co. in the UK using a beautifully modified Fender USA 50's Re-issue Telecaster - arguably the king of Telecasters, featuring a host a upgrades to the already stunning vintage-accurate specs. Incorporating a Gibson USA Neck Humbucker (with surround), "Micawber"-cut pickguard, hand-made contemporary Brass Bridge unit and Sperzel Locking Tuners, this is a guitar designed to perform. One of the best Tele's you'll ever play and the perfect marriage of Fender and Gibson, working together as one!
This is TPP's Non-Relic / Broadcaster Model, comes with standard 6 saddle Standard Tuning/Traditional Telecaster Control layout, and has the ability to be switched to Keith's unique wiring loom supporting a 'blend' control for the Gibson USA Humbucker that replaces the original tone control, if desired. This modification, when combined with Keith's original 5-Saddle "Open G" tuning would most closely recreate the original "Micawber".
The neck is a Fender USA C- Profile. Radius 9.5". Nut width 1 11/16" (1.685"), in Light maple.
Fender's lingo:
"C-shaped necks have a comfortable oval profile that works well for most playing styles. They are usually not as deep as most U- and V-shaped neck profiles. Many Fender guitars, especially Stratocasters, now have a “modern C shape” (or “flat oval”) neck profile, a flattened variation of the traditional C shape."
